Hridaya Basti
Hridaya Basti is an Ayurvedic procedure focusing on the heart region, where warm medicated oil and decoctions are continuously applied. The term “Hridaya” denotes the heart, while “Basti” refers to containment or retention.
During the Hridaya Basti treatment, a reservoir made of organic flour is placed over the sternum, directly targeting the heart area. Warm, herbal oils are then poured into this reservoir, delivering concentrated healing properties to the heart.

Procedure:
- Prepare a dough from black gram or whole wheat flour, shaping it into a small ring placed over the chest, covering the heart area.
- Seal the ring with water to make it leak-proof.
- Slowly pour lukewarm medicated oil or herbal decoction into the reservoir.
- Allow the oil or decoction to cool, then replace it as needed.
- At the end of the procedure, remove the dough and gently massage the area.
- Rest for a while post-treatment.
